Pharmacists check the prescription to see if the right drug is given and to make sure there are no interactions. Like once, a doctor gave an antidiabetic to a patient instead of an anticholesterol and that patient nearly died. Pharmacists are the safety net.Pharmacists also teach the patient how to use devices like insulin pens and inhalers properly as doctors don’t have the time. Pharmacists also talk to the patient more, and this helps as the patient fells more attention is given to him/her.
Hi Summaderazin1You need to go to at least a 2 year college and get science classes for pharmacy requirement, then take PCAT, and just apply to any pharmacy school in the country. Some schools are 4 yrs and others are 3 yrs (for 3 yrs program, it is a little hectic and I would recommend a bachelor degree before applying). However, get some experience by working at drug stores to see how you like. good lucj and hope it helps p/s I am in my last yr of pharmacy program.
