Career Search: The Two Minute Summary
Career Search The Two Minute Summary
For those of you actively looking for a career change or a new job opportunities arise at the most unexpected times.
It is therefore important to be able to clearly and concisely communicate your skills and achievements and thus sell yourselves to a potential employer without hesitation.
This is where the 2 minute summary comes in.
I have been teaching this to job hunters for years and it never fails to provide benefits to those that put the work in. (Admin)
If you can clearly and confidently (without repetition) describe who you are , what your skills are, what your main achievements to date have been and what you are looking for in your next career move. STOP you need not read on.
For the rest of us you can use the 2 minute summary in the following:
on the telephone,
at an informational meeting, and
any other opportunity that arises.
Prepare it and write it down and then practice it on friends, family, pets, mirrors in
the bedroom or whatever.
Knowing it is the first stage, the second is feeling comfortable delivering it in natural
and confident manner. This is not a high pressure sales pitch so dial it down so it
feels like a conversation.
Practice makes perfect and you will find lost of opportunities to use it during your
networking and even your interviews.
Best of luck
