Remember when you were able to control the flow of info about yourself? Not long ago, the amount of information about you and how it could be found was entirely within your control. Alas, this isn’t the case these days. Now, there are all kinds of ways to get numerous things about you. This is tricky for people who hold “regular” day jobs offline. It’s much harder for those who work on the internet. Now, an errant online comment could mean the difference between closing the sale and not closing the sale.
And ao, what must you do? What’s the master plan? The key to staying successful and seeing to it that your reputation continues to be unblemished both online and off is to be as professional as possible all the time. The following are several suggestions to help you with that.
1. Be sure that each thing you write down is spelled right and has proper grammar. Whether your writing is for your sales page or just a brief e-mail does not matter. Spelling and grammar are a must. After all, you don’t want someone to discover something that is full with mistakes, do you? It demonstrates you have no clue about what you’re doing.
2. Don’t leave online messages and telephone calls unanswered. Keep your conversations and responses amicable, positive and polite. This shows that you value each of your prospective buyers, not just those who give you positive feedback.
4. Keep an eye on your social media! It’s easy, while you are in the social media realm, to forget that you’re not an ordinary citizen; that you are representing your business. The folks you are talking to might be fine with an overly chatty tweet or Facebook message. If a person happens to see the communication, though, he might not believe that you are very serious about your business.
5. Let your personality show as much as you can. Nobody says you need to conceal everything that makes you you. In fact, one of the best ways to make yourself stand out is to let who you are shine through your work. Nonetheless, at the same time, keep in mind that you represent your business, so make sure you keep your best face forward.
Obviously getting any of the highest paying salaries or top paying jobs without a degree could be great but not everyone has that advantage.
