• A lot of the fun of the game is gone when you have to test them. Because you have to test the games, you can’t just sit back and enjoy playing them. This is quite frustrating for many people. You may start to lose your love of gaming when you have been testing them for some time. For many top game testers, playing the games for fun would never enter their heads.

• If you want to make it as a game tester then you have to be very disciplined. There are plenty of people out there looking for this type of work and if you are not meeting deadlines then you will not get the work. When you are just starting off this is a very difficult job. Expect to put in long hours with few days off.

• You probably won’t make very much money in the beginning. Most people will break into the profession through game testing communities, and the pay here can be a bit insulting. It is possible to make good money once you build up a good reputation though.
