Maybe you have felt stuck in your career? Employee stress and burn out can take into account a lot of dissatisfaction in your life. After all, you’re at work some 8 hours each day or more. Thats 1/3 of the day if you dont count sleep. Thats quite a long time to become dissatisfied.

1. Brainstorm on a piece of paper – Ive discussed this before and its a method I use constantly. Take a pad of paper and jot down at the very top your objective under consideration form. Then, simply list out 20 solutions to your question. For instance, you could write What must i be doing with my time and life? Then stay seated for a half hour to an hour coming up with solutions to that question. The key to this being active is coming up with 20 answers – dont quit until you have 20 answers. You can repeat every single day until you get the answer you seek.
2. Ask 3 good friends – Sometimes our friends know us better than ourselves. While meeting with your friends, mention you’re in a crossroads in your life and career. Ask what they think youd enjoy doing. You might be surprised at how easily they can zero directly into your strengths and abilities and report a perfect job area.
3. Ask your manager and coworkers – such as your friends within the example above, your manager and coworkers most likely help you in a way you don’t see yourself. In fact, they are likely most familiar with your weaknesses and strengths within the work environment. Compile all of the answers you receive from them and see if there are any common threads you are able to explore.
4. Call a headhunter – If you’re looking for the highest Paying careers list, its likely you’ve got a resume. Sometimes you are able to catch a headhunter or recruiter during their slow times and talk with these phones pick through what you might be a master at. Ive done this at different times in my life and the people seem available to speaking with people. After all, if you dont receive money, they dont either. The ideas I get are often good.
5. Take a career assessment test – There are many sites on the Internet you might be capable of taking one of these tests for a fee. But using my headhunter tip above, many headhunters have this software and dont mind you using the test in their office. Ive taken these tests twice in my life and they usually take a couple of hours, but they’re thorough. They request you to answer a series of questions about what you’re good at, what you enjoy, what you prefer doing over what you dont. If you are taking one, you will probably see some new exciting areas to explore in your life.
6. Keep a journal – Would you keep a journal? If so, go through, looking for common threads in your writing. Keep your eyes peeled for trends and activities you like in addition to dont like. In fact, finding examples of what you dont like and what frustrates you is almost as important as finding what you do like. For instance, if you hate an overwhelming boss, youd probably like a self-directed position. If you hate nosy coworkers youd probably prefer your own office.
Discovering what you really want to do together with your every day life is the most important decision you can make. We spend 1/3 or more in our lives at work. So figuring out the right career is important to keeping that 1/3 in our lives happy and productive.
